Problems with where you live
If you're struggling to manage in your home, your local authority's Adult Social Care team can send an assessor to see whether there are any aids or adaptations which would make it easier for you to manage. This could be something small like a bath or stair rail, or a major adaptation like putting in a wet room.
If you have an urgent need to move home because of a health condition or disability, you can apply for medical priority re-housing. You can apply for medical priority re-housing if you:
-
Have severe mobility issues which makes it difficult for you to access your toilet, bath or shower
-
Need to move to live closer to a carer who supports you day-to-day
-
Have a mental health condition which is being made worse by your current living situation
