It's here! To celebrate the end of our 20th anniversary year as a registered charity, we will be in the Winter Garden for two weeks, showcasing the remarkable talent of our community, and raising awareness of the conditions we support.
From Monday 26th September to Saturday 8th October our exhibition will be on display in Sheffield's most beautiful public venue, featuring:
paintings, collages, crochet, cross stitch, photography, poetry and prose, all contributed by people in the Sheffield region with ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia and Long Covid.
a display of the moving works created by people during the #SpeakUp project, to express their experiences of health and social care.
a display about the rich long history of the group before it became a registered charity, including photos and news articles.
live music and spoken word interspersed throughout the exhibition - get in touch if you'd like to participate!
an information stall running every day from 11am - midday and 2pm - 4pm, to tell people about our group. Contact us if you want to volunteer!
Drop in any time Monday - Saturday 8am - 8pm and Sunday 8am - 5pm to see our exhibition!
The exhibition will also be shown virtually on our website, just here.
Sheffield Winter Garden is fully accessible from street level with no steps. Find more information and map here.
...But that's not all!
On Tuesday 4th October at 4pm we are hosting a Stakeholder Engagement event in the Millennium Gallery, to share the findings from our #SpeakUp project - and you're invited!
This summer we received a grant of £2000 from Healthwatch Sheffield to engage with people with ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia to find out about their experiences of health and social care, and how they would like to see it improved.
We surveyed over 120 people, and conducted a dozen focus groups across the city and online, with the focus of:
Improving access to health & social care support for people living with the conditions|
Monitoring and promoting the implementation of the 2021 NICE guideline for ME/CFS
These findings will be shared with decision makers in the region to improve access and outcomes for people with ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia.
And that starts at our Stakeholder Engagement event, to which we've invited representatives from the NHS and Sheffield City Council, along with other charities and organisations in Sheffield that support people with these conditions.
We're also inviting YOU!
