They are all available for free to our paid members. Qigong is also available to non paid members (see eligibility and access to registration in the description).

About the weekly activities...

Seated Tai Chi
Sifu Margaret is a fully qualified tai chi teacher who has run a successful seated class for the Chesterfield group for several years. Classes are suitable for all ages and levels of ability. All you need is an upright chair with no arms and a good sized screen so you can see and copy.

Mondays 2-2.40pm 12/04, 19/04, 26/04, 10/05, 17/05, 24/05, 07/06, 14/06, 21/06, 28/06

Qigong
This introduction to Qigong brings exercises that are a gentle and invigorating, that will help the body relax, the muscles let go and build strength while opening the lungs and improve their health.

Sessions on:
Wednesdays 4pm-5.15pm (break in between and time for a chat at the end) 07/04, 14/04, 21/04, 28/04, 05/05, 12/05, 19/05, 02/06, 09/06, 13/06, 23/06, 30/06, 07/07, 14/07, 21/07
These sessions are organised within a partnership with Orla O'Connor our instructor and Understanding Arts CIC. Therefore, you do not need to be a paid member to take part in these sessions. They are open for people with ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, Long Covid and any other conditions which share symptoms of post-exertional malaise, severe fatigue and chronic pain. You don’t have to have a formal diagnosis.
To receive the link to registration, please contact Orla on orlaqigong@yahoo.com. If you are a member of our Group, you'll get the link along with the other activities links (which are the same as in winter, so if you were registered this winter, you don't need to register again).

Nutrition & Cookery
After the success of our Nutrition & Cookery sessions over winter, we are happy to continue the foodies group with occasional sessions that will be organised based on input from the group of participants. This can be nutritional talks, cook along sessions or discussions around specific themes.
Details of each session will be communicated as we go along, so register now to keep informed, receive reminders and get access to any of these sessions!

Meet a bunch of friendly faces to have a chat about this and that. These are replacing the in-person drop-ins we used to hold across Sheffield.

Parlons français !
Venez parler français avec nous !
We are a friendly group of several members and one French communications officer who like to gather and speak French from time to time. Au programme : little games, discussions, short videos, virtual visits... Everything you need to have a good time and practice your French.
Suitable for levels intermediate to advanced.

Who are these activities for?
These activities are all available for free to our paid members.
If you live with ME, Fibromyalgia or Long Covid, are in South Yorkshire/North Derbyshire and aren't a member already, you are welcome to purchase membership for £12 a year and access the full range of activities and services we offer.

joining and Registration
If you are a member and wish to attend one or more of these activities, you need to register to activities with the links we provided you via email and post. The links are also included in the welcome email if you've purchased membership online. You only need to register once per activity to get free access to any of the sessions. If you were registered for the winter sessions, no need to register again.

Qigong: the Qigong sessions are hosted as part of a special partnership which allows non paid members of the SMEFG to participate. Please see eligibility and contact for registration in the Qigong section.
The registration system is securing the sessions from external intrusions. You are in a safe space. Also, you do not need to turn your camera on during the activities, and you can even join by phone with the number provided in the registration's confirmation email.

Get reminders
By registering to an activity, you will receive reminders via email on the morning of the activity. Register once, and you'll be reminded of all the sessions of the activity you registered for. The reminder email will include a reminder of the joining details.
If you wish to unsubscribe to an activity, just drop us an email.

Need help with Zoom?
It is easier to join if you have the Zoom app installed on your desktop or phone. If there's any issue, call us! 00114 2536700. If you feel unsure about joining an activity over Zoom, we will be happy to answer any questions you might have and we can even guide you through a private 'trial' meeting so you have a first experience of it.
