We are delighted to announce that our new Charity Director is Maria Ashmore.
We would like to say a massive thanks for all the brilliant work our previous Charity Director Pauline Kimantas did for our charity and we wish her all the best for the future.
Please see below an introduction message from Maria.

Hello everyone,
I am happy to join the Sheffield ME and Fibromyalgia Group as Charity Director. With 18 years of experience working in the voluntary and community sector, I am looking forward to using my experience and knowledge to support those living with ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, and long covid. Throughout my career, I have always been guided by the principles of integrity and compassion, and I am dedicated to ensuring that we work towards a world where everyone affected by these conditions receives the care, support and information they need.
I am incredibly proud to be joining a team that has already made such an impact. The dedication and passion of our staff and volunteers are inspiring, and I look forward to supporting them in continuing and strengthening their work.
With a continued focus on post-viral fatigue and other associated illnesses as a result of instances of long covid, there is now a significant opportunity to renew our vigour in advocating for change. This is an exciting moment to build on this momentum and ensure that the needs of people living with chronic illnesses are recognised and addressed more effectively.
In my previous roles, I have campaigned for change in the health system and worked closely with NHS colleagues to improve services for our community. This experience will help us strengthen our advocacy efforts and work collaboratively to hopefully drive meaningful change.
This of course all means that we need to continue to engage meaningfully with our members and I’m really looking forward to meeting and hearing from lots of you as I settle in.
Together, we will continue to raise awareness, work towards improving healthcare services, and create a space where everyone affected by ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, and long covid feels empowered, heard, and supported.
Warm regards,
Maria Ashmore
Charity Director
